Seeking out medical advice after you’ve been in a car accident is always a good idea. But what happens when it’s ICBC asking you to see a doctor?

Sometimes ICBC will ask you to undergo what is called an independent medical examination. This is when they ask an independent doctor to give their opinion on the extent and severity of your injuries.

Often this forms the bulk of their defence case. But whilst you have to give any doctor your full co-operation, you don’t have to go looking for ICBC to send you to them in the first place.

To find out why not visiting a doctor might be in your best interests give me a call. I’ll be happy to guide you through the subject of independent examinations.
