Three Car Accident Claims Life of an Elderly Vancouver Man
Posted on Feb 03, 2014
On January 16, 2014, at about 7:00 a.m., an 82-year-old man was driving south on Kerr Street in south Vancouver. Vancouver police say that a medical emergency may have caused him to lose control of his car and collide with two other cars traveling east on Marine Drive.
One Life Lost, Two Drivers Injured
Sadly, the elderly man lost his life in the crash. By the time paramedics arrived on the scene he had already passed. The cause of his death, be it a medical event or the accident itself, has not yet been determined. The drivers of the other two vehicles—one woman and one man—were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened and are asking accident eyewitnesses to come forward and tell police what they saw.
As attorneys who often represent accident victims in Vancouver, we have seen many accidents caused by a medical event. They are no less devastating than any other type of accident, and too often leave those affected by the crash with more questions than answers.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of the man killed in the accident.
We hope that time will heal the sadness of your loss.
To the injured drivers, our best wishes are with you as you recover from the accident.
