A Vancouver Car Wreck Lawyer Reports on Two Accidents in Langley
Posted on May 17, 2013
A Vancouver car accident lawyer at McComb Witten recently learned of two separate, serious accidents that occurred in Langley.
The first happened on the afternoon of Thursday, April 18, 2013, at approximately 3:20 p.m., when a motor vehicle hit a 12-year-old boy at the intersection of 42nd Avenue and 200th Street. According to a Vancouver Sun news report, the boy was wearing a helmet, and the driver stayed on the scene to provide first aid. Rescue workers airlifted the boy to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were not life threatening.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is investigating—the cause of the accident has not been determined.
Later that same day, a 19-year-old woman from Surrey was the victim of a hit and run accident. She was walking in the 19700 block of 72nd Avenue—a paved stretch of road with no sidewalk—at around 10:40 p.m., when she was struck by a vehicle. She landed in a ditch and the driver of the vehicle took off without stopping to render aid.
The woman suffered massive head injuries and injuries to her lower body. Another pedestrian heard her moaning and ran to her aid. She was transported to hospital with serious injuries; she is unable to speak with investigators.
The RCMP traffic unit is asking the driver of the vehicle that hit the 19-year-old to come forward.
The Vancouver car accident lawyers at McComb Witten send sincere condolences to the victims of these serious accidents and wishes them speedy recoveries.
