A Vancouver Car Accident Lawyer Reports on a Fatal Richmond Car Crash
Posted on May 18, 2013
A Vancouver car accident lawyer at McComb Witten was saddened to learn about a horrendous five-car crash in Richmond that occurred on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at approximately 3:30 p.m. The accident left one person dead and sent three others to the hospital—two were in critical condition.
According to reports from the Vancouver Sun, the five cars collided, for reasons still unknown, at Westminster Highway and Knight Street. Local Mounties believe that speed played a role, but this was obviously a complex collision.
The intensity of the crash was quickly apparent to the dozens of onlookers, who crowded around the scene. One of the vehicles had been blasted 100 meters away from the crash site.
The vehicles involved were diverse, too. They included a Ford Escape (which was badly battered), a Mercedes C Class sedan (the car of the person who died in the crash), and an Aston Martin DB9 convertible, valued at $200,000.
One person died at the scene of the crash. Rescue workers evacuated three others, two of whom had to be taken away by helicopter for emergency medical care. Two of the five cars were destroyed during the mid-afternoon crash. Police shut down Knight Street and Westminster Highway for an extended period, while authorities investigated the crash scene.
The Vancouver car accident lawyers at McComb Witten extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person who died in this collision. We hope that the three people who suffered injuries recover quickly.
