Will ICBC Force me to Settle my Claim?

So your ICBC injury claim has been ongoing on for a number of months.

And the adjuster keeps calling you.

" Why don't we settle your claim."

"  Let's wrap up your case and put some cash in your pocket."

" How come we haven't settled your case yet?"

Here's the thing.

A settlement of your ICBC claim can only come to pass if you and the adjuster come to an agreement. Or, to put it another way, ICBC can't FORCE you to settle your claim.

But that doesn't mean that your adjuster isn't going to try and PERSUADE you to settle.

And some adjusters are more forceful in their attempts to PERSUADE than others.

That being said, an ICBC adjuster can't FORCE you to settle your case if you don't want to.

Any settlement of your claim requires your consent.

And in some circumstances that means holding your ground. Despite the fact that it might be uncomfortable to do so.
