Video Surveillance & Your ICBC Injury Claim
"Does ICBC really put people under video surveillance?" Sure they do.
"So, what are the chances that they'll be watching you?" Well, that depends on what your case is all about.
If your claim involves relatively minor injuries and you aren't missing much in the way of work, then I'd be quite surprised if ICBC bothers to put you under video surveillance.
You see, ICBC has to make a number of judgment calls with each and every injury claim made. And one of the decisions they have to make is how much they're going to spend to investigate your ICBC claim.
OK. So what type of person can anticipate that they'll be the subject of video surveillance by ICBC investigators ?
The first type of individual that springs to mind is the guy who has missed several months of work but who's injuries aren't normally the type one would expect to be particularly disabling.
A second likely candidate for video surveillance is the person has been off work, as a result of injuries, for a number of months and doesn't appear to be improving.
The third kind of person who stands a good chance of being a movie star is the guy who has suffered serious injuries and who's case is going to attract significant compensation. And as far as this goes, the closer this type of case gets to a mediation or a trial, the more likely that the heat is going to be on.
