Stop It ! - Stop Signs are there for a Reason.

" A California stop - ya' that's what I did .... can you blame me?... I was in hurry."
" It's ridiculous to have to come to a full stop.... it takes too much time."
" I stopped... looked both ways.... no cars coming in either direction... I couldn't tell ya where he came from!"
I've heard them all.
So why are so many people living in B.C.'s LowerMainland getting injured by drivers who disregard stop signs?
I'll tell you why!
Motorists simply aren't paying enough attention.
A stop sign is placed at an intersection for a reason.
It's put there so a driver who arrives at that intersection does the following:
> stops his/her vehicle prior to entering the intersection;
> takes enough time and pays enough attention to ensure that when they move forward there are no oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists etc. who pose a safety hazard;
> ensure that once they enter into the intersection they'll be able to pass through it safely ( for all concerned).
It really isn't that complicated.
But you need to understand and think about the "why" of the stop sign.
Before you pull out into the intersection.
Involved in a car accident where a motorist disregarded a stop sign?
