Here's a question I get asked on a regular basis - My son/daughter just recentlys started driving. Can I let him/her drive my truck every once and awhile without changing my insurance with ICBC ?

The answer to this question is a simple one. Absolutely not.

Your insurance coverage specifies the level of experience drivers of your vehicle must have in order to operate that vehicle. If your son/daughter's level of driving experience is less that the minimum specified in your policy of insurance, you'll have a serious problem on you hands if your vehicle is involved in a crash.

The moral of the story is simple. Before you allow anyone to use your vehicle check to ensure that your ICBC Autoplan insurance permits him/her to do so.

See, you ICBC auto insurance policy is like any other contract. If you fail to live up to your end of the bargain you could be in trouble.
