It's the type of accident that nightmares are made of.

Shyane Cooper, her 18 month old son Cayleb, three year old Ryder and her boyfriend Mike Stafford were camping near the Wolverline River Bridge outside Tumbler Ridge.

Shyane was sleeping in a tent beside her boys when she was woken by Stafford's screaming  The next she heard was the roar of an engine of an engine. And then she saw lights plowing into the tent.

Cooper was able to push her boys out harms way. But unfortunately she was struck and badly injured by the Chevy pickup which reversed into her tent.

As a result of the crash Cooper suffered a a broken jaw, nose, eye socket, broken ribs and an injury to her neck. She was originally transported to hospital in Dawson Creek but later was moved to Fort St. John for further care.

An article in the May 24, 2013, edition of the Province newspaper says that the driver of the truck had been arguing with her boyfriend and was attempting to leave the campsite when she struck Cooper`s tent.

This accident serves as a very frightening  reminder of how the emotional and mental state of a driver can have very serious consequences. In short,  a person who isn`t in the proper frame of mind to have full control over their vehicle should not get behind the wheel.
