Knight Street Bridge Off-Ramp - Vancouver's Worst Intersection
According to ICBC's 2012 statistics there were 267 car accidents on the off ramp at the north end of the Knight St. Bridge.
And these 267 car accidents resulted in 127 casualties - people injured or killed.
That makes this "intersection" the worst in Vancouver when it comes to car accidents.
What's interesting is the whole Victoria-Fraserview are of Vancouver appears to be a hot spot for car accidents and injuries.
Here's what went on it 2012 at intersection nearby:
> Knight and E. 41st. - 94 accidents resulting in 28 people injured/killed;
> Knight and E. 49th - 90 accidents resulting in 36 people injured/killed;
> Knight and E. 59th - 90 accidents resulting in 40 people injured/killed;
What's the deal with Knight Street?
Why is there such carnage on this particular Vancouver roadway?
Well, according to an article in the Nov 8/13 edition of the Vancouver Courier, 50% of the truck traffic moving through the City of Vancovuer from Port Metro Vancouver uses Knight Street.
So, what's the moral of this story?
Well, for starters, if you're travelling on Knight St. --- BE VERY CAREFUL !
And, if you're unfortunate enough to become one of these Knight St. statistics I'd be happy to help you in any way I can.
