Coquitlam Cops Called over Hitchhiking Clown

Perhaps his clown car had run out of gas. Maybe he’d lost his way to the circus.
Either way it’s hard not to raise a smile at this story about a clown who was picked up by Highway Police for hitchhiking near Coquitlam. http://www.thenownews.com/news/coquitlam-clown-sightings-trigger-calls-to-police-1.921257
Now I’ve seen some crazy things on the road. But in all my years I’ve never seen a clown thumbing for a ride. What next, a lion-tamer?
Only on the west coast right?
In the end the Highway Patrol was called after receiving several calls from concerned motorists about a guy in a clown costume.
They were pretty good about it though, giving Bozo a ride to Langley so he could make arrangements to get home.
It’s a funny story. One that’s certainly brightened up my morning.
But while the police gave this clown a break - we should probably remember that hitchhiking is actually illegal in BC, as it is in most of Canada.
In fact there’s a $109 fine for anyone who’s caught doing it.
And you’re gonna have to make a lot of balloon animals if you’re going to pay that off!
