Bright Lights - Real Danger
"Bright new lights are a real danger"
That's what Martin Phillips of Port Moody thinks.
And Phillips is a professional "motor coach" operator ( I think that's a fancy way of saying bus driver).
Phillips wrote a great letter to the Province newspaper which was printed in the Dec 1/13 edition.
Here are some nuggets:
> " I wish to express my concern and growing frustration with an ever-increasing problem. The problem is the super bright and very harsh headlights in all the new cars and trucks. It's as if everyone's driving around with their high-beams on."
> "When you are staring into an endless stream of super bright, laser-beam-like headlights, waiting to turn left for example, the pupil in the eye contracts, automatically adjusting to the bright light. Now, when all the cars have passed, and it is clear to proceed, you are essentially driving blind for a few seconds, meanwhile turning left."
This guy has a point here!
And I, for one, experience the exact same thing on a regular basis.
What are your thoughts concerning the new breed of headlight?
Let me know.
