What's at the top of your wish list when it comes to the settlement of your ICBC injury claim?

Is speed of settlement your #1 ? Do you want to get your case settled ASAP? If so, you might not want to hire a lawyer.

What about the quality of your settlement? Is making sure that your compensation properly reflects your injuries a key issue for you? Alright, then perhaps you should consider hiring a personal injury lawyer who's committed to achieving your goal.

You see, a quick settlement and a quality settlement are tough to achieve at the same time. In fact, its fair to say that you need to choose which of these you want and proceed accordingly.

Here's the thing, a quick settlement is often only achiveable when  you "leave money on the table". That's not to say you shouldn't take this route if speed is what you need. But rather, I question whether you need the assistance of  a lawyer if all you want to do is, "get it over with".

As for a quality settlement, well, that's a different story. A settlement that provides you with the compensation you feel is appropriate usually requires doing a number of things to prepare your case while its still active ( i.e. a quality  settlement usually doesn't happen by accident). The bottom line is that this is going to take time. And as for hiring a lawyer, the right personal injury lawyer would probably be quite helpful to you if this is what you're aiming for.

So, think about it long and hard. What exactly do you want ? And what are your prepared to give up in exchange?
